Everyone knows the best part of winter is getting cozy and the best way to get cozy is with hot chocolate. I’ve always loved Swiss Miss as a great winter indulgence, that doesn’t leave me feeling like I’ve over-indulged.

I recently discovered that in addition to enjoying Swiss Miss as a drink, you can actually use it to add a little extra boost of chocolate coziness in recipes.

You can add a little Swiss Miss to make your morning cereal sweeter, to coffee for a made-at-home mocha, or use it in your favorite dessert recipes.

Hot Chocolate Dump Cake Recipe

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 35 minutes

Total Time: 45 minutes


  • 1 box chocolate pudding mix
  • 1 1/2 cups whole milk (you can use 2%, 1% or even milk substitute, but whole milk makes it richer)
  • 1 box chocolate fudge cake mix
  • 4 cups small marshmallows, divided
  • 1 cup mini semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 2 tablespoons Swiss Miss hot chocolate mix (any flavor)


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease a 9×13-inch pan and set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk. Stir in the cake mix and 2 cups of marshmallows and chocolate chips.
  3. Remove from oven and sprinkle with remaining marshmallows and the hot chocolate mix and allow to cool in the pan for 1 hour before serving.
